Ulla Lange, a native of Lahti, Finland, loves solving spatial conundrums. Her main focus is always to listen to each client's needs and preferences in order to create a built environment that is designed specifically for that client. As individual likes and parameters vary, so do her solutions and thus the interiors do not follow a certain formula or a "look". Her goal is always to make sure the client is getting what they envisioned and hoped for. In larger projects, such as multi-unit building renovations or new housing developments, Ulla pays the same close attention to how the space will serve the end user.
She has a profound affinity for colors, materials and patterns that comes from years of working in the textile / surface design field.
Her love for spaces easily transitioned into architecture, specifically interior architecture and design. After receiving her Master in Architecture, she began Ulla Lange Design and olo inside, a design showroom in Boulder, Colorado, which imported a curated collection of Finnish furniture, light fixtures, and interior accessories. Subsequently, Ulla became one of the founding partners of WORKSHOP8, an award winning architecture and design firm.
Ulla researches new, innovative, and sustainable technologies and materials. In 2012 she passed the exam for LEED AP for Homes and 2019, she earned her WELL AP credential from the International WELL Building Institute.
Built environments that support and enable health and well being are her focus.
Ulla's international background and experience in living in cities, such as London, New York, Boulder, and Helsinki, has made her appreciate diversity and different aesthetics. Extensive travels in the world have also added to her "visual memory bank", to which she continually refers in her work.
